Tall Ship with Local Youngsters to Arrive in Plymouth for the Weekend on Friday 22nd September

Plymouth will welcome the tall ship Pelican of London in the morning of the 22nd September with youngsters from the Plymouth, Teignmouth and the local Devon area aboard.

The tall ship will have been sailing on a STEM at Sea, Ocean Science based voyage since 12th September.

Tall ship Pelican of London will be open to the public for deck visits throughout the day on Saturday the 23rd of September.

The tall ship is owned by the youth development charity Seas Your Future, offering young people sail training, maritime careers, and ocean science voyages for personal and character development. The charity was founded in 2008 to support the development of young people, building resilience, self-confidence, and independence. Pelican of London sails for 46-48 weeks each year with up to 35 young trainees and 12 professional crew and volunteers.

Seas Your Future CEO Adrian Ragbourne said: “We are pleased to be sailing into Plymouth after a ten-day STEM at sea voyage with youngsters from the Devon area. The public are welcome to climb aboard our tall ship Pelican on Saturday the 23rd of September for open deck visits and to learn more about the work that we do.”
