After two weeks in drydock, the Pelican of London 2022 summer programme has officially begun! We are proud to announce that Pelican has officially arrived in Ireland, kicking off the start of our summer. The Pelican is currently in Dublin awaiting the first group of youngsters to climb aboard and learn the ropes.
We are super excited to be starting this summer with an ocean science voyage, led by our Head of Science Dr Charlotte Braungardt (or as we call her, Charly). The motivation of Seas Your Future for making science part of the normal experience aboard our vessels arises from the recognition of the intrinsic value of enhancing awareness and understanding of the natural environment, the impact human activity has upon it and thinking about the solutions to pressing environmental challenges, such as climate change and pollution. We are very excited to have an ocean scientist on every voyage this summer selected by Charly!
This voyage, like the majority of our summer voyages, is in collaboration with one of
our closest partners Sail Training Ireland. Sail Training Ireland is a charity that funds the development of young people from all backgrounds and all abilities on the island of Ireland by giving them the opportunity to participate in voyages on sailing vessels. We are so thrilled to be collaborating with them again as during the pandemic we were unable to.
