Become an Ambassador

We are seeking local and sector specific ambassadors to support our valuable work. The Seas Your Future (SYF) “Ambassador Programme” is a new channel to reach out and connect to organisations, high net worth individuals, community groups, trusts and foundations, local councils, governments, and individuals who might support our work both financially and operationally. Ambassadors will be place-based in geographic regions with an interest in at least one of the following: Sail Training, Youth Development, Ocean Science and/or Maritime Careers. Ambassadors will network and represent SYF, spreading the word at events, conferences, to professional networks, friends, and family members, introducing us to and approaching organisations who work with young people and potential new funders.

Key Responsibilities

· Increase brand awareness in your region by attending events, speaking to your networks, sharing SYF on your social media platforms and other initiatives.
· Seek out funding sources in your region: this may include from trusts and foundations, potential commercial sponsors, the government, schools and colleges, and high net worth individuals, and approach these funding sources representing SYF.
· Attend events such as shanty festivals, conferences, and presentation evenings.
· Attend quarterly meetings (mostly virtually) to report back to the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Yasmin Deter (Min) and the other Ambassadors.
· Contribute to the quarterly “SYF Ambassadors Newsletter”, which is signed off by the CEO of Seas Your Future, Adrian Ragbourne.

· Potentially the opportunity to sail aboard our tall ship Pelican of London.
· Knowing that you are positively helping the development of the charity, and, most importantly, the development of the young people who sail with us.
· Induction and Training, contributing to your professional development.
· You will receive SYF merchandise, including a SYF t-shirt and jacket, a bespoke “SYF Ambassador Handbook” and other promotional materials.
· Dedicated staff contact with recognition of “Ambassador Status” on our website.
· You will gain the experience of working within the Charity Sector.
· Through networking it will help your professional development.
· As this is a voluntary role, if you are completing your Duke of Edinburgh Award, this role can contribute to you achieving this.
